Curtis Thompson, MD

Dr. Thompson is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine and completed both his residency and fellowship training at the University of California San Francisco. He is board certified in dermatopathology and anatomic pathology, with expertise in alopecia and diseases of the nail unit.

Dr. Ghaferi is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with over 15 years of professional experience, having completed residency at Henry Ford Health and her fellowship at the University of Michigan. She holds board certifications in both dermatology and dermatopathology.

Dr. Schapiro holds over 25 years of dermatopathology experience and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology. He completed his pathology residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston and his dermatopathology fellowship at Harvard under Dr. Wallace Clark.

We offer a growing menu of dermatopathology, oral pathology and histology laboratory services. In addition to traditional immunohistochemical staining and diagnostic reports for tissue biopsies, we also offer direct immunofluorescence (DIF) for vasculitis, autoimmune bullous and connective tissue disorders, as well as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for nail fungus dermatophyte speciation.
